Kirkham Michael has an immediate need for an entry-level CAD Tech./Construction Assistant to join our Des Moines, IA, office. We are seeking an individual with an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Training or experience with Microstation, AutoCAD or Construction is a plus. In addition to office CADD work you will also help conduct design and construction surveys, topo's, and cross sections for streets, storm and sanitary sewers, highways and land development. You may also be required to assist with construction related services such as observation or concrete testing. Kirkham Michael currently has a full-time position available for an Entry-Level Survey Crew Chief. The ideal candidates will have 1-2 years surveying experience should include a background in construction, boundary, topographic and ALTA surveying. Leica survey equipment experience is preferred. This position requires the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time and walk over uneven terrain. NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner
Kirkham Michael has an outstanding opportunity in our Omaha, NE, office for a qualified individual to manage, direct and develop environmental document preparation for transportation and airport projects in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This individual must have substantial experience authoring and developing environmental documents (Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and Categorical Exclusions) to be submitted to FHWA and FAA. Responsibilities include authoring NEPA environmental documents, purpose & need statements, alternatives analyses, Section 4(f) statements, environmental justice, permitting and mitigation design parameters, conducting research, collecting and analyzing data. This individual will also handle agency consultation, permitting, the public involvement process, and oversee document production. This individual must possess excellent leadership, mentoring, strategic planning, and strong written and oral communication skills. Marketing and business development skills would be needed to assist in acquiring new business. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Planning, Engineering or related field and minimum of 5 years experience. Master's degree with certificates of training in NEPA Compliance, Section 106, Wetlands, and Air and Noise Studies preferred. Experience in current software for document production and analyses required.
